Computer ate shite!

Update on late orders; custom work, consignments and stock items.

I am behind by several weeks due to an injury to my back as well as an ongoing issue that resulted in the death of my hard drive. Fortunately the hard drive issue is being fixed.

All orders should resume by Feb 3rd, as I am attempting to do my first gallery show in 5 years with a bad back and sans computer to print films.

I always encourage people from the SNB to hit me up in email during this time.

And end of a run.

Just an FYI about skateboards. I am no longer attempting to make even in small batches beautiful, hand crafted exact time consuming gallery quality skateboards. What was supposed to be a 4 year experiment has come to a conclusion. In that time I have labored, struggled and the rewards have not be in proportion to my time. Though I love skateboard, I love all that it entails I cannot deal to a minority of customers that no matter how much additional time I give for free to make sure their item, project or finished piece is nearly beyond anything ever created quality wise it has only put me behind the 8-ball and in the last year I cannot put myself at a disadvantage that results in the customer being at a disadvantage. My interest has always been art, not collectables.

I will continue to make skateboards and in the future will make releases however XXX has changed it's direction and I as an artist have changed my goals.

I make the highest quality constructed and finished skateboards. Maybe not the best art and maybe not your style and that is open to your taste however I make nice stuff that is durable and pretty.

Thank you,
-Krayola

Original Veil Ink

Last year as I was contemplating the prototype print of the Veil I noticed that there wasn't enough rear end on the woman-ghoul. So after printing a test deck I decided to amend the films and burn more screens.

This is the original ink before the amended rear end.

What you are seeing is the actual ink, which is really a painting. Since I wanted to paint opaque white over black to see just how solid, smooth and easy to apply a new brand of ink was. This is as well the mater for the limited edition print and the final prototype deck.

The ink is 15" and 20" high. The ink is about 5% larger then the print on the deck. It's immaculate, really white and the ink was expertly laid down. It is more a painting then an illustration. In some of the photos you can see the different between the white-white board and the superior painted in white over the black background. If you hold it to the light at an angle you can see some slight smooth brush strokes.

My work is impeccable which is to say an ink isn't supposed to be perfect so this is more a painting then an ink.

Pirate Cat Print

This is something I originally made for my nephew some 9 years ago and only recently discovered. The original was done in water colors on illustration board. I usually print these in the margins on print runs as to utilize paper more efficiently. As well it appears several of my customers have actually cats that have only one eye.

Rumble in Roswell New Mexico Proof Print

This is how the final 32 Hotrod turned out. The idea of just doing a Hotrod by itself was a cool prospect however as part of the my ongoing UFO mythos(UFO Intercept) I am playing around with I decided to give the hotrod context. Obviously the driver attempting to outrun several pursuing UFO's which are gaining on his attempt.

There maybe a color version of this but right now happy with how it came out.

In real life this print is impressive and pulls you in.

1980's Prototype Pink Crows

There was two samples made back in 2008 and 2009. Each is a fine mixed custom pink that is to be just on the edge of coral but not Barbidoll obnoxious pink. Done in either aqua sea-foam green or yellow wings.

or turquoise wings.

More hotrod porn

1932 Ford highboy. Finished the suspension and side corner panels. Right now just sketching in the driver and determining the setting. Just drawing a car wouldn't be enough since it has to have context. I am thinking possibly a desert road setting.

Bad Wolf Bomber Art Prototype Deck

This is another Bad Wolf. The first batch was used as tests to mount rivets and do different distressing methods. They were painted like how you weather a WWII era warplane model kit so those boards are a week away from being done and will be mind blowingly rad.

It was pulled from the cue to be offered as is and prestine. Imagine an airplane delivered fresh to a forward fighting unit and it's yet to be beaten to hell. So this is the pristine version.

About the Rivets:

The riveting is a precision alloy non-ferrous button-head 3/16 DD "fastner" used in aviation and were used in WWII(since the birth of aviation) and came from Boeing circa 1940's. These are precision drilled to match the convex of the board and are NOT held in with glue since I they were only drilled through 2.5" plys and are held like the originals by it's precision hole which the drill hole is .00-1,000th smaller. It wont ever come out. The board was printed white and is in a mixture of enamels and acrylics and cleared 3 times at various stages and was silkscreened then airbrushed and the hand painted.

Deadly Dame Pinup Poster

This was released as a skateboard deck 4 years ago however wasn't satisfied with it then so I decided to do a redux of the image and change it to a what-if WWII bomber pinup. After several test prints I decided on two variants.

There was only 2 made of the off blue background and faint yellow bones.

The final came - Classic Purple or - Classic Red

20" tall by 14" wide.
